A close examination reveals that there is no discernible difference between youthocracy and gerontocracy in Nigeria because the vast majority of young leaders prioritize their own interests even much more than the supposed older generation.
They lack the clear vision that many people thought they would have with the belief that "once they were freed , they've no business about the system, if distrupt we all find means how to settle the score.
Puerilocracy, a system characterized by immature or infantile decision-making. It is frequently linked to leaders who lack responsibility, maturity, or experience—exactly what Youthocracy has changed.
The fact that young leaders demanded youthocracy and received puerilocracy in exchange shows that the ideal of youth empowerment or leadership has deteriorated into something more problematic or ineffective. This occurred because of inexperience and impatience.
Young leaders are not mature enough or experienced enough to make wise choices. Young leaders in Nigeria, where political systems are complicated and full of obstacles, possess the zeal and vigor to bring about change, but their poor decision-making, which reflects immaturity, childishness, prevents them from having the political acumen and strategic thinking.
Over-reliance on ideals without workable solutions is another element that makes youthocracy turn into puerilocracy. Innovation and change are frequently emphasized by youth movements, which can be advantageous.
A youthocracy that lacks experience or judgment, however, may have a propensity to adopt idealistic but unworkable remedies that overlook more fundamental structural problems. Their attitude has changed to puerile decisions due to this lack of practical knowledge, with youthful leaders concentrating on shallow changes, short-term gains, or instant gratification.
Young leaders in Nigeria have transformed their agenda into a puerilocracy, where decisions are made for political or personal benefit rather than the long-term stability of the country, since they place more importance on winning favor than on making tough but essential decisions.
Youth movements have occasionally been exploited by more established or older political groups rather than empowering young people. In these situations, zeal has been used to further immature or self-serving goals, which may be a reflection of a puerilocratic society.
The youth-led movements' lack of unity and fragmentation, with multiple groups tugging in different directions, is no longer a covert goal. This lack of unity has resulted in an immature, fragmented political environment in a nation like Nigeria, where ethnic and regional divisions are important.
When warring factions within the youth movement make decisions that lack coherence and result in gridlock or an ineffectual system, youthocracy has become ineffective and has transformed into a puerilocracy.
Summary: Because youthful leaders or movements lack the maturity, experience, and practicality needed to properly manage the complexities of the system, youthocracy in Nigeria has evolved into puerilocracy.
