In this season of prayer and reflection, we encourage all citizens to embrace the deeper meaning of Eid: humility before God, compassion toward one another, and commitment to justice and service. Let us share what we have with the less privileged, extend forgiveness, and rekindle the bonds that unite us as a people.
Eid al-Kabir is also a call to leaders, both in government and in our communities to lead with sincerity, to put the people first, and to pursue policies and actions that reflect the values we celebrate today: fairness, accountability, and sacrifice.
