In a bold and unsparing statement, Hon. Oluwole Oke, a former federal lawmaker and erstwhile chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, of weaponizing blackmail against key national figures over the lingering local government crisis in the state.
Oke, who made the statement Thursday morning via his official Facebook page, called on Governor Adeleke to cease dragging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC leader and former Osun Governor Asiwaju Gboyega Oyetola, Attorney-General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi SAN, and the Central Bank Governor into what he described as “a self-inflicted constitutional crisis.”
“Please stop blackmailing Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osun State APC Leader Asiwaju Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, the Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi SAN, and the CBN Governor,” Oke declared. “It is your government that is inflicting pain on us the true beneficiaries of local government administration in Osun State, by refusing to do the right thing.”
The lawmaker, who recently exited the PDP, cited disregard for sound legal advice and the entrenchment of sycophants in government as key reasons for his departure.
“I personally advised you on what to do following the Court of Appeal’s judgment reinstating the APC-elected council chairmen, vice-chairmen, and councillors. But you ignored it,” he said. “Only an illiterate lawyer would misguide you into believing the ruling was unclear. The court ruled definitively that PDP and OSSIEC approached the wrong court. What else do you need to hear, sir?”
Oke emphasized that the legal window for a Supreme Court appeal has closed and urged Governor Adeleke to comply with the court’s decision immediately.
“What’s left is simple: Direct the local government civil servants under NULGE to resume work and cooperate with the legally reinstated APC officials. Their tenure must run its course unless compensation is provided for the remaining period,” he said.
The outspoken politician also recommended that OSSIEC commence preparations for fresh local government elections within the next 180 days, while appealing for dignity and support for the PDP aspirants who participated in the now-nullified exercise.

Oke concluded with a unifying message, asserting that both APC and PDP members are citizens of Osun State and deserve responsible governance rooted in justice and respect for the constitution.
“You owe us all a duty of care, Mr. Governor,” he said. “Governance must be about service, not vendettas or propaganda.”
Efforts to reach Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson for a response were unsuccessful as of press time.
