Wole Oke Delivers Again: Over 1,000 Osun Youth Empowered with Fully Funded Technical Education

Osun State, Nigeria

In a bold move reinforcing his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, Hon. Dr. Oluwole (Wole) Oke, member representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency, has once again demonstrated purposeful leadership by fully funding tuition and related fees for over 1,000 students across nine technical colleges in Osun State.

True to his pledge, Hon. Oke covered tuition, enrolment, upkeep, and SIWES fees, ensuring that young, promising minds are not de

nied access to technical education due to financial constraints. The scholarship, disbursed on June 25, 2025, marks a significant milestone in his long-term strategy to promote vocational skills and self-reliance among the youth.

A Lifeline for Aspiring Technicians and Innovators

The beneficiaries span a wide range of technical disciplines, including Electrical Engineering, Tailoring, Catering, Carpentry and Joinery, Fabrication and Welding, Business Studies, and Motor Vehicle Mechanics, with recipients drawn from technical colleges in Osogbo, Ara, Otan, Gbongan, Ile-Ife, Inisa, Osu, and Ijeda-Ijebu-Jesa.

Notably, while eight colleges enrolled Year 1 students under this initiative, Ijeda-Ijebu-Jesa Technical College saw coverage extended to students from Year 1 through Year 3, reinforcing Dr. Oke’s depth of commitment.

A Vision Rooted in Action

Speaking on the development, Hon. Oke stated:
“This scholarship programme is part of my vision to ensure that every willing student has access to technical education. By prioritising skill acquisition, we are creating job creators rather than job seekers—essential to reducing unemployment and lifting families out of poverty.”

This is not an isolated gesture but a continuation of Oke’s consistent investments in Osun’s educational and economic future. Over the last five years, his interventions have equipped countless youths with practical skills, reducing dependency and opening doors to entrepreneurship and gainful employment.

Beyond Handouts: Building a Skilled Future

In an era where many leaders offer rhetoric without results, Hon. Wole Oke stands apart, delivering not only on his promises but also on the hope of a better future. His scholarship programme is more than financial aid; it is a strategic investment in human capital, fueling a generation poised to drive innovation, productivity, and sustainable development in Osun State and beyond.
