Osun Renewal Group Slams Governor Adeleke’s ‘Dancing Curse’ on Osun State

 

The Osun Renewal Group (ORG) has issued a blistering press statement, accusing Governor Ademola Adeleke of turning Osun State into a personal estate of the Adeleke dynasty under what it described as a “dancing curse.”

According to the statement signed by Yale Oyerinde, the group alleged that the state’s wealth of intellect and potential is being squandered by a leader with weak educational grounding and

questionable competence. ORG claimed that Adeleke’s rise to power was less about his personal capacity and more about the influence of his siblings, Dr. Deji Adeleke and Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, who allegedly dictate state policies behind the scenes.

 “A school certificate failed person should not be entrusted with Osun’s future. Our state has become a private business of the Adeleke dynasty,” the group declared.

Allegations of Misgovernance

1. Education and Communication Failures

ORG argued that Adeleke’s limited education hampers governance, alleging that he cannot sustain a two-hour policy address in fluent English and relies heavily on his sister to interpret memos. Instead of leadership substance, the group claimed, the governor distracts citizens with dances and theatrics.

2. Cronyism and Nepotism

The group alleged that about 95% of state contracts are routed through Pacific Holdings Limited, owned by Deji Adeleke. ORG said this monopoly amounts to converting Osun into the family’s business empire, while qualified professionals across the state are sidelined in favour of relatives and political loyalists.

3. Ede Above Osun

ORG further accused Adeleke of concentrating projects in his hometown, Ede, while neglecting other regions. The group claimed that about 200 indigenes of Ede qualified or not have been employed at the University of Ilesa and within the civil service, while at least seven have allegedly been promoted to permanent secretary positions.

“Is Ede the only town in Osun State?” ORG asked, contrasting Adeleke’s style with past governors who it said avoided concentrating resources in their hometowns.

The group lamented that Osun, a state rich with educated youth and “first-class brains,” is being ruled by what it called “a puppet governor misled by family cronies.” ORG insisted that leadership must involve vision and intelligence, not comic dances or shallow theatrics.

“Ademola ‘Dancing’ Adeleke is a complete error in governance,” the statement read. “Osun is enslaved under a dynasty that has no interest in genuine development.”

Call to Action

ORG urged citizens to resist what it called the Adeleke family’s grip on Osun by participating in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise and securing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

“Every vote will be used to ensure Adeleke and his cronies dance their way to Kirikiri by 2026 if this pattern of misrule continues,” ORG warned.

The statement concluded with a rallying cry:

“Osun people must wake up now! We cannot entrust our future to an uneducated governor and a dynasty that has enslaved our state. It is time to end the Adelekes’ curse and reclaim Osun State.”
