From Dallas to Osogbo: Durodoye’s blueprint for a reborn Osun

 

As Osun State prepares for the upcoming governorship elections, renowned academic and All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Professor Raifu Durodoye, has unveiled a bold and transformative vision aimed at reshaping the state’s economy and empowering its people.

During a live radio appearance in Osogbo, Professor Durodoye, a retired professor from the University of Dallas, Texas, USA, and a native of Osogbo, detailed his comprehensive development agenda. He pledged to provide free healthcare services, quality education, job creation, youth empowerment, and robust economic reforms that will reposition Osun for sustainable development.


“I am bringing back my wealth of international experience, academic knowledge, and practical leadership to serve the good people of Osun State,” Prof. Durodoye stated. “Our people deserve a government that is accountable, visionary, and capable of bringing tangible results. That is why I am committed to delivering free medical services, employment opportunities for our youth, empowerment initiatives, and accessible education for all students in the state.”


In addition to social welfare promises, Durodoye emphasized economic revival as a central focus of his campaign. He revealed plans to establish a special economic advisory committee and forge strategic partnerships with Chinese investors to drive industrial development, boost agriculture, and support infrastructure and innovation.


“My administration will collaborate with trusted international partners, especially investors from China, who are eager to support economic initiatives in Africa. Together, we will foster capital development and technological advancement that will benefit every sector in Osun,” he explained.


The APC aspirant also highlighted the importance of agricultural revitalization, noting that the state’s natural resources and fertile land offer significant potential for food production, job creation, and export development.

Professor Durodoye’s campaign is gaining traction among citizens and stakeholders who view his entry into the race as a refreshing opportunity for competent and progressive leadership rooted in transparency, innovation, and a people-first approach.
