Old Trafford was alive with energy as Manchester United surged into a 2–0 halftime lead over Sunderland, showcasing a dominant performance that left fans optimistic for the second half.

Rúben Amorim's tactical setup, featuring a 3-4-2-1 formation, proved effective. New signing Benjamin Šeško led the line, supported by Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount, while Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes controlled the midfield. In defense, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw provided a solid backbone, with Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot offering width from the flanks.

The breakthrough came early when Mason Mount capitalized on a well-timed pass from Bryan Mbeumo, volleying home to give United the lead. Shortly after, Benjamin Šeško doubled the advantage, reacting quickly to a loose ball in the box.

Despite Sunderland's efforts, including a denied penalty appeal following a VAR review, they struggled to break down United's defense and create clear chances.

With a two-goal lead, Amorim will look to maintain intensity and secure a crucial three points in the second half.

Halftime Score: Manchester United 2–0 Sunderland
