On this Democracy Day, I had intended to rest my pen. I wanted to leave the fate written on the walls of history to speak for itself. I thought perhaps the sacrifices of those who fought for democracy were enough testimony. Yet, in the final hour, a thought stirred within me, compelling me to write a message to all of us who have come together to form this sovereign nation called Nigeria. My message is particularly for those who believe that the business of Nigeria lies in the hands of a powerful few. Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has issued a stern warning to popular matchmaker and social media personality, Kehinde Adams, popularly known as Lege Miami, following a derogatory statement made about his late father.
Nwabali, who expressed shock and disgust over the remark, cautioned Lege Miami never to disrespect his late dad again.
He emphasized that while social media banter is common, dragging his deceased father into public jokes is completely unacceptable.
The goalkeeper warned that any further disrespect would be met with a “merciless” response.
The tension has since sparked reactions online, with many fans urging restraint and calling for mutual respect in public exchanges.
