BREAKING: From Campaign Donor to ‘Kill Me or Pay Me’: Man Reviews APC Investment Balance Sheet

In what appears to be Nigeria’s most dramatic “return on investment” complaint yet, a man on Thursday stormed the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja with a message as blunt as it was unsettling: reward me or kill me. The protest, captured in a now-viral video, shows the visibly distressed man holding a placard and demanding recognition for what he described as his personal sacrifices during the party’s 2023 campaign. According to him, loyalty was not just emotional, it was financial, physical, and, ultimately, total. In a country where political support often comes with expectations, some spoken, many implied the man’s outcry reads like a tragic audit of misplaced trust. His claim that he sold his house to fund campaign efforts has not been independently verified, but the symbolism is hard to ignore: a citizen liquidating stability in exchange for promised political dividends. Observers at the scene watched as the protester oscillated between anger and ...

Storm Rider at Dawn: A Tribute to Courage, Kindness, and the Quiet Makers of Change

 Oriontimes Editorial Board | November 27, 2025

In the pages of my memoir, “Voices From the Fire: My Journey Through a Hollow Empire,” one name rises like thunder braided into destiny, Mr Akinlolu Olumide Funso, the man I codenamed Storm Rider. Not because he seeks the noise of battle, but because he carries the rare grace of one who understands storms, survives them, and shields others from their fury.

My philosophy remains simple yet necessary:

Let those with good hearts know that they are good,

for when goodness is left uncelebrated, evil begins to look beautiful.

Today, Storm Rider celebrates his birthday. And just as the sun honours the morning without proclamation, I honour him with truth, not embellishment.

There is a policy embraced by many Americans:

“Look around you and see what you can change.”

It is a creed of quiet responsibility, one that moves without applause. Storm Rider lives by it. He sees what is broken and chooses, in his own steady way, to mend what he can.

So on this day of his birth, I appreciate not only him but his envoy, those loyal companions who stood by him, believed in him, and by extension believed in me. Their presence affirms that in a hollow empire, there are still men who walk with intention, kindness, and the courage to stand firm when it matters most.

A Deeper Ode to the Storm Rider

As the fundamentals continue to exit from the world of Orion,

where loyalty thins, integrity flickers,

and ancient constellations of character slowly fade,

Mr. Akinlolu Olumide Funso remains an emblem of prestige,

a rare constellation that refuses to lose its light.

He is the Storm Rider:

the man who steps into chaos not to conquer it,

but to understand it,

to calm it,

to reshape it into something gentler.

He is the kind of soul who reminds the world

that greatness is not always loud,

that power is not always forceful,

that influence is not always televised.

Storm Rider is that paradox of grace:

a warrior who fights without raising a sword,

a leader who commands without raising his voice,

a friend who strengthens others without public applause.

He walks through broken spaces

not to judge the ruins

but to rebuild them with patience.

He stands in rooms of confusion

and becomes clarity.

He stands in rooms of fear

and becomes courage.

He stands in rooms of doubt

and becomes the quiet reminder

that all storms eventually bow to resilience.

So today, as he marks another journey around the sun,

we do not just celebrate his birthday,

we celebrate his vibration,

his frequency,

his rare ability to remain good

in a world that often rewards the opposite.

May his footsteps continue to echo wisdom.

May his presence continue to sharpen destinies.

May his journey continue to inspire those

who have forgotten what honor feels like.

For in every generation,

there is always one Storm Rider,

and in ours, it is him.

BREAKING: Esa-Oke Youths Reunite as Survivors, Caution Pelumi against revisionism

....we’re not your campaign slogan Once upon a glorious, chaotic 2017, practically every able-bodied youth in Esa-Oke held honorary title in the land: Personal Assistant to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. No interviews. No pay. Just passion, blind loyalty, and the stamina to chase him from one campaign ground to the next like a political body double. From Comrade Mainframe to Comrade Swiss, from Yinka Oba to the humble football boys who carried cones like national flags, we were there. We were the movement. Until, of course. Now in 2025, Barrister Pelumi, clearly inspired by a Netflix political drama is on a media tour telling anyone who’ll listen that he "settled everyone who worked for him." Settled who, please? Maybe in his dreams or in the metaverse. In the real world, the story’s a bit different. Those of us from Obokun, who hustled day and night, got exactly zero: no thank you, no handshake. Take Sami, now a former Ward 7 councillor, no thanks from Pelumi. Folusho? Aregbe...

Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss

The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps , High Chief Dr Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele , who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital following an attempted assassination on his life on Monday, has strongly refuted the claims made by the Osun State Police Spokeperson regarding the incident. Reacting to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who claimed that investigations had not commenced because the Commander had not provided evidence of the attack, the Amotekun boss expressed deep disappointment, labeling the police response as insensitive and misleading. "It is shocking that a police spokesperson would say there is no evidence of an attack when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ota-Efun Division — the nearest jurisdiction to the incident — was immediately informed," the Commander said. "Officers from that division visited the scene the same night, assessed the damage, evacuated the vehicle, and advised me to seek ...

I Will Pay $10M If Nnamdi Kanu Curtail Insecurity, Ezendigbo Challenge FG, S' East Politicians

The Founder of the Better Nigeria For Better People, Chief. CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, has lambasted the former Governor of Anambra State and the Presidential candidate in the last general elections under the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for facilitating efforts towards Nnamdi Kanu's release from detention. Ezendigbo, in a statement released on Thursday said that, Nnamdi Kanu lack power to stop insecurity in Southeast Nigeria. According to the former Presidential Aspirant, "Let's have a road map for a 2-month cease-fire agreement to demonstrate that to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) would stop insecurity. He's just a political football fan for politicians, he said." "I am challenging both the federal government and Southeast politicians with $10M (Ten Million Dollars), they should tell Nnamdi Kanu if there will be no sit-at-home, no kidnapping in the region, that will give guarantee that he has control over insecurity in the southea...

The victim who confirmed the development to Vanguard on Monday, said the incident happened on Friday.  According to him, the driver was earlier apprehended during an operation over expired car particulars. “I am a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO).
