ACCORD Moves Against Lawyer Daniel Edeachi Over ‘Fabricated’ Suit, Reaffirms Unbroken Unity in Party Leadership

 The Osun State Chairman of the Accord Party Caretaker Committee, Pastor Victor Akande, has accused Abuja-based lawyer, Daniel Edeachi, of professional misconduct and vowed to file a formal petition against him before the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee (LPDC).


This follows a report by Punch Newspaper on a suit marked FCT/CV/4955/2025, filed by one Oliver Bitrus and handled by Edeachi, which claimed that a Federal High Court judgment had recognized Prof. Chris Imumolen as the National Chairman of Accord.



Pastor Akande, in a strongly worded statement on Friday, described the claims as fictional, misleading and politically motivated, insisting that no such judgment exists.


According to him,


“There was never a time any Federal High Court affirmed Chris Imumolen as National Chairman of Accord. The claim is imaginary and sponsored by desperate politicians trying to destabilize our party.”




He further debunked the allegation that one Chief Okey Nwosu was suspended as Deputy National Chairman, stressing that such a position was never held by the said individual within the party structure.

The Accord Caretaker Chairman faulted Edeachi for what he called a complete absence of due diligence before filing the suit.


“Daniel Edeachi failed woefully to verify the claims of the plaintiff. The suit he relied on was dismissed since last year, and no appeal was filed. These are basic facts any responsible legal practitioner should check before approaching the court,” he stated.




Pastor Akande vowed that the party would submit a petition to the LPDC, adding that misleading the court amounts to a serious professional breach.



“We will report the counsel to the appropriate authorities because his actions appear deliberate. This is a clear attempt to mislead the judiciary and destabilize our party.”




Accord United, Ready for Osun Governorship Primary


Despite what it described as orchestrated distractions, Pastor Akande affirmed that Accord remains stable, united and fully prepared for the upcoming 2026 Osun State Governorship Primary.


He revealed that the National Working Committee (NWC) held its meeting earlier in the week, while the National Executive Committee (NEC) convened two days ago and took key decisions.


These include:


Constituting a Caretaker Committee for Osun State, led by Pastor Akande


Approving electoral guidelines for the 2026 Governorship Primary


Establishing an Electoral Committee for the primary


Passing a vote of confidence on the NWC led by National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem


Reaffirming that Accord has no faction



Pastor Akande emphasized discipline as the hallmark of the party, warning that Accord will not condone conduct capable of undermining internal harmony.


 “As affirmed by our National Chairman, Accord will not tolerate any individual whose utterances threaten the unity and stability of our political family. We are focused, undistracted, and ready for a seamless primary process.”




He called on members and supporters to remain steadfast as preparations continue.
