The Irish government has announced the recall of approximately 13,000 passports after discovering that the documents do not fully comply with international travel standards, raising concerns for affected holders planning to travel abroad.
According to Irish authorities, the issue was identified during internal quality assurance checks within the country’s passport production process. While the passports remain authentic and were legally issued, officials confirmed that certain technical specifications fall short of standards required under international aviation and border control regulations.
