“Stop Linking Us to Your Candidate’s Certificate Scandal” — Accord Fires Back at Osun APC

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has issued a firm warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging it to desist from dragging the party into controversies surrounding its gubernatorial candidate’s certificate issues.



In a strongly worded statement, the party made it clear that it has no involvement in the internal challenges of the APC, particularly matters relating to the credibility and authenticity of its candidate’s credentials.



“At no point are we interested in the distractions coming from a troubled opposition,” the statement read. “Our focus remains firmly on engaging the people of Osun State with our manifesto and vision for credible governance.”


The party emphasized that its campaign is centered on substance, policies, and the future of Osun State, rather than political mudslinging or personality-driven attacks.


Accord further noted that it is presenting its scorecard to the electorate, showcasing its contributions and performance across various sectors, while maintaining a campaign rooted in issues that directly impact citizens.


However, the party stressed that transparency and accountability remain non-negotiable for anyone seeking public office. It called on the APC candidate, referred to as Ambo, to address the 30 questions previously raised regarding his credentials, questions the party claims remain unanswered.


Drawing a contrast, Accord pointed to the example of Ademola Adeleke, whom it described as an “Osun Good Governance icon,” noting that he demonstrated openness by responding to 18 questions earlier directed at him.


“Leadership demands honesty and responsibility to the people. The electorate deserves full disclosure from anyone aspiring to lead,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by Pastor Victor Babalola Akande, Chairman of the Accord Party in Osun State, on behalf of the party’s media centre.
