"Release Our Children Now!" — Angry Youths Storm Osogbo Over Abduction of Oyo School Pupils

Hundreds of concerned youths and civil society advocates took to the streets of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to protest the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren in Oyo State, demanding their immediate and unconditional release.



The demonstrators marched through major roads in the state capital, chanting solidarity songs and repeatedly shouting, "Release our children now!" as they called on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts toward rescuing the abducted pupils and their teachers.


Carrying placards with various inscriptions condemning insecurity, the protesters described the kidnapped children as the nation's future and warned that continued attacks on schools pose a grave threat to education and national development.



Speaking during the peaceful demonstration, some of the protest leaders expressed deep concern over the growing wave of insecurity affecting communities across the country. They urged the federal and state governments, security agencies, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders to work together to secure the safe return of the victims.



The protesters maintained that children should be protected and allowed to pursue their education without fear, stressing that attacks on schools undermine the nation's progress and weaken public confidence in security institutions.



They appealed for urgent intervention from relevant authorities, emphasizing that every moment in captivity increases the trauma faced by the abducted children and their instructors.
