The lawmaker representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has called on members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State to reconsider their political stance, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a firm grip on the state's political landscape.
The House Committee on Foreign Affairs, expressed concern over what he described as the continued political misjudgment of PDP loyalists. “Remove the scales from your eyes and look clearly the path forward is with the APC,” he stated.
He emphasized that his statement was made in good faith and in the interest of his fellow citizens, noting, “Do not say I didn’t warn you. I have fulfilled my duty of care to you all. It’s now up to you to act wisely.”
Using a popular Yoruba proverb, the lawmaker urged the youth and undecided voters to learn from the experience of elders. “What an old man sees sitting, a young man may not see even while standing,” he said, stressing the value of political foresight and wisdom.
Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke concluded his remarks by advising PDP supporters to “borrow themselves some sense” and realign with what he described as the new political reality in Osun State.
