Wole Oke Spreads Eid Cheer with Cash Gifts to APC Ward Executives

In a remarkable show of grassroots solidarity, Rep. Busayo Oluwole Oke, who represents Ijesa North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has gifted cash stipends to All Progressives Congress (APC) ward executives across Oriade and Obokun local government areas in celebration of the Eid el-Kabir festival.

The gesture, described by many as timely and heartfelt, saw dozens of party executives receive credit alerts on Tuesday morning. Beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Oke, who also chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, for remembering them during the Islamic holiday.

"I was surprised to see the alert this morning. It came just in time to support my family’s celebration. This is what leadership means,

remembering the base," said one of the recipients, a ward chairman in Obokun.

While some beneficiaries are yet to receive their disbursements, many have praised the lawmaker’s consistent engagement with the grassroots. "Even those of us awaiting our turn are thankful. Hon. Oke has always carried everyone along, and we are confident we won’t be left out," another party official noted.

The Eid el-Kabir gesture has sparked commendations from across the political spectrum in Ijesa North, with constituents hailing Oke’s approach to inclusive politics. Observers noted that his act reinforces his reputation as a responsive and people-centric leader who does not limit his generosity by political seasons or alignments.

Eid el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant holidays in Islam. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God,  a lesson in faith, charity, and devotion. Hon. Oke’s outreach aligns with these values, reflecting a tradition of giving and shared celebration.

With this initiative, the lawmaker once again underlines his long-standing mantra: "No one left behind."
