Salako Rallies APC Supporters: ‘Your Voter Card is Your Weapon for Change’

 

Otan-Aiyegbaju, Osun State 

A former stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Otan-Aiyegbaju, Boluwaduro Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Wale Salako, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to take the ongoing national voters’ registration exercise seriously, describing the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as the only legitimate weapon to enthrone their preferred government.

Salako, who defected to the APC last weekend with hundreds of his supporters in a carnival-like rally, said the era of mere sloganeering was over, stressing that only those who possess PVCs can effect meaningful political change.

 “It is not enough to chant party slogans or wear party colours. Without a voter’s card, you have no say in the democratic process. Every loyal APC supporter must be armed with their PVC to wage a non-violent electoral war when the time comes,” Salako declared.

Addressing APC supporters across the Ila Federal Constituency, covering Ifedayo, Ila, and Boluwaduro Local Governments, Salako appealed for proactive participation, insisting that the strength of the party in future elections would be determined by the number of registered voters it commands.

The Abuja-based Auditor and Financial Consultant said his defection was borne out of wide consultations with family, supporters, and political stakeholders, as well as his conviction in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, the visible reforms and achievements of the Tinubu administration in stabilizing the nation’s socio-political and economic landscape further emboldened his decision to pitch tent with the APC.

 “President Tinubu deserves credit. He has been performing wonders to keep this nation afloat. Politics aside, the man is working, and Nigerians are beginning to see the results,” he added.

Salako also expressed confidence that the APC would reclaim Osun State in the next election cycle, describing the PDP as “a carcass of its old self,” weakened by successive defections of its leading lights to the ruling party.

He assured that he and his supporters were committed to giving their “all” to the APC in upcoming contests.
