OLALEKAN BADMUS: The Osun-Born Technocrat-Politician Navigating Nigeria’s Maritime Frontline

In a season where Nigeria leans heavily on competence to stabilise critical institutions, Engr. Olalekan Abdul-Rahaman Badmus, affectionately known as Omo Oloore, stands out as one of Osun State’s most valuable technocratic contributions to the federal space.



A former Commissioner for Regional Integration & Special Duties under former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Badmus transitioned in January 2024 into a pivotal national assignment as Executive Director, Marine & Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). His strategic portfolio places him at the command line of Nigeria’s maritime operations, spanning port logistics, coastal security coordination, trade facilitation, and shipping efficiency.


In simple terms, he occupies one of the most sensitive nodes where maritime policy meets national economic survival.


A Technocrat Rooted in Osun, Groomed Through Enterprise: Born into a family distinguished for enterprise, public service, and compassion, Olalekan's technocratic journey began early. His professional ethos was shaped in his formative years working at TUNS Farm Nigeria Ltd, his father’s pioneering agribusiness empire, a household name in Nigeria’s industrial history.
