In a world where misinformation thrives and political desperation fuels false narratives, the leadership of ACCORD as a Political Party in Nigeria, has risen firmly to clarify recent distortions circulated by self-styled political jobbers and propagandists. These people, who align with a political party that have long been rejected but still basking in faded glories, have attempted to bring despondency on a political party that prides itself on stability and people-centric ideologies.
Since it was founded, ACCORD has remained among Nigeria’s best-organised and crises-free political parties. It can be described as a party that values transparency and discipline and holds democracy as a core value with no room for either godfatherism and political manipulation. None of these values, according to leaders of the party, will be compromised by mere relevance.
According to a statement issued by Hon. Oke Rotimi Michael, Spokesperson Forum of State Chairmen of ACCORD South West and State Chairman, ACCORD Ogun State, it was clearly stated that ‘the rumour making rounds that our National Chairman, Mr. Maxwell Mgbudem, Esq. has been suspended, is absolutely and totally false.’
As per statements made by Hon. Oke, "it should be noted that we had a National Executive Committee meeting on 3rd December 2025 wherein a vote of confidence was passed on the National Chairman as well as on the whole National Working Committee. At no stage was there any form of disciplinary action against Mr. Mgbudem, as it had been widely disseminated."
“ACCORD still remains a law-abiding and constitutionally-guided party,” he emphasized. “No person can bring chaos among us via baseless allegations.”
The statement also touched on the misleading information being disseminated by a former Presidential Candidate, Prof. Chris Inumolen, who still poses as a leader within ACCORD.
Hon. Oke Rotimi explained that Prof. Inumolen was formally expelled from the political party due to several instances of anti-party conduct, which included:
Trying to assume a leadership role that he does not have.
Attempting to hijack party structures for control.
Aggressively muscling into a national secretariat in 2024.
Causing internal confusion and disregarding party procedures.
“Given such a track record, it is comical that an expelled member still presumes to have authority within the party. All reports issued from his camp should be disregarded; they do not and will not speak for ACCORD,” Hon. Oke said.
Moreover, the State Chairman of ACCORD in Osun, Pastor Victor Akande, also refuted the claims made against the party and its governorship candidate, H.E. Governor Ademola Adeleke. Pastor Akande clarified that:
Governor Adeleke formally became a member of ACCORD on 6th November 2025.
He received public recognition from the party on 9th December 2025.
He emerged as the valid winner at the ACCORD Party Primary conducted on 10th December 2025.
The said primary election took place under strict guidelines approved by NEC and monitored by officials from INEC.
He challenged other political parties to display what they have achieved with their candidate instead of spreading deceit on social media platforms. “Elections are not conducted on social media platforms. Those serious about competing should get out and demonstrate what they have achieved. Osun State is ACCORD, and ACCORD is Osun State,” he argued.
The leaders reiterated that ACCORD party is:
Indivisible and united, crisis-free, no court case, no faction, no animosity, guided strictly by constitution and national law, free from godfatherism and political interference.
“And most importantly, it’s based on internal democracy and unity that ACCORD derives their strength. We are the most reliable political party in Nigeria today, and no amount of propaganda will change that,” Hon. Oke Rotimi concluded, urging ACCORD members, followers, and the general public to rely solely on party communications and ignore the noise made by disgruntled people seeking political survival.
