Russia, China Afraid of US Under My Administration — Trump

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has claimed that both Russia and China fear the United States because of the strength and global posture of his administration, asserting that American influence stems largely from its military power and leadership role in NATO.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote that Russia and China would have “zero fear” of NATO without the United States and questioned whether the alliance would act in Washington’s defense if needed without U.S. participation. He emphasized that the only nation those powers respect is the “DJT‑rebuilt USA,” referring to his efforts to strengthen the U.S. military since returning to office.

Trump also took credit for driving up defence spending among NATO members, noting that before his leadership many allies were spending only 2 % of GDP on defence, a figure he claimed was raised to 5 % due to his pressure. He suggested that without his involvement, Russia “would have all of Ukraine right now.”

“These countries don’t fear NATO without us,” Trump wrote, “and I doubt NATO would be there for us if we really needed them.” He added that despite his criticisms, the U.S. would always stand by NATO.

His remarks come amid heightened tensions with European allies over several issues, which have drawn concern from some NATO members about alliance cohesion. Trump also lamented that Norway did not award him the Nobel Peace Prize, while repeating longstanding claims that he “ended eight wars” during his time in office.
