TICC says report indicates favourable voter sentiment for Osun governor, urges calm and calls for heightened electoral vigilance amid rising political tension
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has referenced what it describes as a political assessment allegedly commissioned within strategic circles of the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
According to TICC, the document reportedly prepared by independent election and voter behaviour analysts examined electoral sentiment, governance perception, and voter dynamics across Osun State. It is said to suggest a favourable position for the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the election.
The council claims the assessment points to broad-based public support cutting across multiple social and occupational groups, while projecting a significant advantage for the governor in voter preference. However, these figures and claims have not been independently verified.
TICC further stated that the alleged report attributed public sentiment shifts to governance-related factors, including infrastructure development, workers’ welfare interventions, education and healthcare initiatives, and rural development programmes under the current administration.
It also claimed that the assessment advised caution regarding heightened political spending and strategy intensity, citing voter attitudes and perceived governance performance as influential factors.
These claims remain unconfirmed by the APC or independent electoral observers at the time of this report.
The Imole Campaign Council also expressed concern over what it described as rising political tension in parts of the state, calling on security agencies, civil society organisations, and election monitors to ensure peace and order throughout the electoral process.
Reports of sporadic political clashes and campaign-related disruptions have been noted in some areas, though full verification of these incidents is still pending.
TICC maintained that Governor Adeleke remains focused on governance and service delivery, urging political actors and supporters to prioritize peaceful engagement.
The APC has yet to issue an official response to the claims referenced in the alleged assessment.
