Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the Osun State Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all individuals linked to the killing of Mr. Ajagungbade Emir, as the state government moves to restore peace and order following the incident.
The governor's directive was contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in response to the fatal incident, which was reportedly connected to a leadership dispute within the state's motor park system.
As part of measures aimed at preventing further unrest, Governor Adeleke ordered the immediate vacation of motor parks by rival groups and announced the reintroduction of a Park Management System across Osun State.
The governor also instructed security agencies to restore normalcy in affected areas and ensure the maintenance of law and order throughout the state.
According to the statement, Governor Adeleke is expected to issue an Executive Order to formally establish the Park Management System, which he said would promote discipline, orderliness and effective administration of motor parks and garages across the state.
"The Commissioner of Police is to act immediately and ensure the arrest of all those involved. Law and order must be maintained. There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book," the governor stated.
He further appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies, assuring that the government is committed to restoring peace in all affected locations.
"We call on members of the public to remain calm. We will ensure restoration of peace in all the affected parks and areas. The security agencies are under instruction to ensure the sustainability of peace at all costs," he said.
Governor Adeleke added that the reintroduced Park Management System would provide a structured framework for the administration of motor parks, while helping to prevent future disputes and enhance public order.
The development comes amid heightened concerns over security and management of motor parks in the state, with authorities pledging to ensure that those responsible for the killing are brought to justice.
