Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has felicitated Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to remain united and committed to Nigeria’s collective progress.

Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Industries, made the call in an Independence Day message issued by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi.

The Ijesa-born lawmaker appealed to Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious and regional differences, stressing the need for collective efforts to address the challenges confronting the nation.

He also urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Let us continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to actualize his policies and programmes. He has good intentions for Nigeria. We will get it right,” Fadahunsi said.

The Senator said national development must focus on strengthening the economy, creating employment opportunities, addressing food insecurity, improving access to education and healthcare, and enhancing the protection of citizens.

“On this Independence Day, let us commit ourselves to Nigeria’s unity and collective improvement. Regardless of ethnic, religious, or regional differences, we must see each other as brothers and sisters,” he said.

Fadahunsi further stated that, in his assessment, the impact of the Federal Government’s economic reforms was becoming evident, while noting what he described as significant improvements in national security over the past three years.

Turning to the 2027 electoral process, the Senator urged residents of Osun East Senatorial District to participate actively in the democratic process and come out on January 16, 2027, to vote for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also called on Nigerians to remember the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers and renew their commitment to the ideals of unity, peace, justice and tolerance.

“Though challenges remain, with God’s grace, Nigeria will overcome and emerge stronger,” Fadahunsi said.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and meaningful 66th Independence Anniversary.
