A Must Read: If You Know You Are Brilliant, Please Step To The Front

This story will inspire a lot of students who battles with phobia. We should all know that we there's a king that lives inside us.

Stepping forward doesn't portray you were brilliant, but boldness makes you become.

Narrating how these young folk conquered  fears and began to exhibit leadership potential.

According him; "When I got to JSS1, I wasn’t too brilliant like that, but I had been an A student since primary school."

On our first day at school, a teacher came into the class and asked who the class monitor (class rep) was, but there was nobody.  

So he asked a simple question:  

"If you know you are brilliant, please step to the front."

The whole class kept quiet. If you dropped a pin, it would sound like a bomb.  

Nobody accepted that they were brilliant, and nobody came out.  

So I stood up and walked to the front.  

Omo, it took a lot of courage for me to do that, new environment and all, but I did it.  

I knew I was brilliant. At least, I had been coming 3rd in my primary school.  

Then one other guy also stepped out.  

The teacher then asked us a question. I can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was a mathematical question.  

The other guy answered but got it wrong. When I answered, I got it right.  

I think I just guessed the answer, and it turned out to be correct.  

And that was how I was made the class representative.  

I served as class rep from JSS1 till the end of SS3, and I was later chosen as the Head Boy.  

That was how my leadership journey started, and today, I can count a lot of things I’ve achieved because of that exposure.  

Here’s the lesson I want you to learn:  

1. BE BOLD

There were a lot of students more intelligent than I was, but the difference was that I was bold, and that was how I was made a leader.  

Many of you have great abilities, but you are too scared and too shy. That’s why people who are not as good as you are getting better opportunities.  

It is not humility to hide your ability and brilliance.  

The world only rewards courageous people.  

2. HAVE HIGH SELF-ESTEEM

Stop thinking low of yourself because what you have is enough to take you to the king’s palace.  

Some of you reject compliments.  

If someone says, "Ahh, you look beautiful," you’ll be the first to downplay yourself.  

Menh, I am intelligent, and I am not scared to say it.  

Wherever I stand to speak, people must feel me because I have what it takes. 

Stop thinking less of yourself.  

If they are looking for a volunteer to be a leader, stand up and accept it.  

 You have what it takes.  

Stop thinking small!
