A close examination reveals that there is no discernible difference between youthocracy and gerontocracy in Nigeria because the vast majority of young leaders prioritize their own interests even much more than the supposed older generation.
They lack the clear vision that many people thought they would have with the belief that "once they were freed , they've no business about the system, if distrupt we all find means how to settle the score.
Puerilocracy, a system characterized by immature or infantile decision-making. It is frequently linked to leaders who lack responsibility, maturity, or experience—exactly what Youthocracy has changed.
The fact that young leaders demanded youthocracy and received puerilocracy in exchange shows that the ideal of youth empowerment or leadership has deteriorated into something more problematic or ineffective. This occurred because of inexperience and impatience.
Young leaders are not mature enough or experienced enough to make wise choices. Young leaders in Nigeria, where political systems are complicated and full of obstacles, possess the zeal and vigor to bring about change, but their poor decision-making, which reflects immaturity, childishness, prevents them from having the political acumen and strategic thinking.
Over-reliance on ideals without workable solutions is another element that makes youthocracy turn into puerilocracy. Innovation and change are frequently emphasized by youth movements, which can be advantageous.
A youthocracy that lacks experience or judgment, however, may have a propensity to adopt idealistic but unworkable remedies that overlook more fundamental structural problems. When warring factions within the youth movement make decisions that lack coherence and result in gridlock or an ineffectual system, youthocracy has become ineffective and has transformed into a puerilocracy.
