The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the public to disregard what it described as a “twisted and misleading” video clip allegedly involving its Osun West Senatorial aspirant, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi. In a statement issued on Saturday, the party accused members and supporters of the Accord Party of deliberately misrepresenting Ogunbiyi’s remarks from a political meeting in a bid to create confusion within the APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election. The APC maintained that Ogunbiyi remains “a credible, trusted, and dependable chieftain” who is fully committed to the party’s mission of reclaiming power from Governor Ademola Adeleke. At least 50 people were injured yesterday when a driver plowed into a crowd celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League victory. Among the injured were four children, one of whom is in serious condition.
Police identified the driver as a 53-year-old British man, who has since been taken into custody.
