Oyinlola Rises Again: Wole Oke Calls for the Return of a Giant to Osun’s Political Center Stage

In a bold and impassioned intervention from abroad, Honourable Busayo Oluwole Oke, the seasoned federal lawmaker representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, has reignited political discourse in Osun State by calling for the reintegration of former Governor Prince (Gen.) Olagunsoye Oyinlola into the political mainstream.

Speaking during a remote briefing, Hon. Oke himself a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), implored citizens and party faithful to rise above rumor-mongering and factional politics. He described Oyinlola as a towering symbol of integrity and resilience, whose return to active leadership could serve as a unifying force for Osun’s fractured political terrain.

“Oyinlola stands tall, still,” Oke said emphatically, “and along with Engr. Fatai Akinbade, he remains one of the last standing pillars of true statesmanship in our state’s democratic journey.”

Oke, who reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, took a swipe at those reportedly scouting for governorship hopefuls from outside the party’s established structure. “It’s laughable and ill-advised,” he said. “Osun is not short of capable leaders. We have a reservoir of tested sons of the soil ready to lead with courage and clarity.”

In a spirited rebuttal, he also dismissed as “a fabrication from the pit of hell” rumors that APC operatives are making moves to court incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke. Oke urged Adeleke to stand firm, invoking the iron resolve of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola during the turbulent 2014 elections. “If I were him, I’d take the bull by the horns. You win or you lose, but you must fight on your feet,” he declared.

Oke further listed a cadre of Osun-born political heavyweights, AIGO, OMI YAA, SBO, SRJ, ODB, AMBO, BOA as worthy heirs to Osun’s leadership. “These are not just initials. They are symbols of competence, tested capacity, and deep connection to the grassroots. We don’t need imports, we need unity,” he stressed.

Closing with characteristic bravado and flair, Oke poked fun at critics and fence-sitters alike. “You may disagree with me and that’s your right. But I’m sending this message from the skies on a British Airways flight. Catch me if you can,” he joked.

As Osun’s political horizon continues to shift, one thing is clear: Hon. Wole Oke is not content with silence. With his latest clarion call, the drumbeats of 2026 may have just begun.
