Wole Oke Congratulates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Second Anniversary in Office

ederal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement released in Abuja, Hon. Oke described President Tinubu as “the most civil and tolerant President Nigeria has ever had,” applauding his administration’s commitment to upholding fundamental human rights and fostering democratic values.

Despite facing criticisms from opposition parties, factions within the All Progressives Congress (APC), and even from his South West base, Hon. Oke noted that President Tinubu has maintained a climate of political tolerance where dissent is not met with repression, a stark contrast to past administrations.

On the economic front, Hon. Oke hailed the President’s bold decision to remove the petroleum subsidy, describing it as a landmark policy that dismantled entrenched interests and redirected critical public revenues back to the federation account for constitutional distribution.

“That is the true spirit of fiscal federalism,” he said.

He also commended the Tinubu administration for its impactful youth empowerment initiatives, particularly the creation of the Students Loan Fund and the unprecedented inclusion of young Nigerians in ministerial and agency leadership positions.

“No other Nigerian President has empowered the youth this extensively,” Hon. Oke remarked.

Highlighting Nigeria’s improved standing on the global stage, Oke cited successful international engagements, including a $2.5 billion agricultural investment deal secured from Brazil, and Nigeria’s recent removal from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) debtor list, a testament to renewed global confidence in Nigeria’s leadership.

The lawmaker further

applauded the President’s ongoing reforms in the security sector, his respect for traditional and religious institutions, and his policy of non-interference in the operations of anti-corruption agencies.

“Security is a shared responsibility,” Hon. Oke stated, urging Nigerians to support government efforts to protect the nation. He also noted improvements in worker welfare, including wage increases under the current administration.

“Across every sector, economy, civil rights, education, foreign policy, security, and governance, Mr. President has shown leadership, compassion, and uncommon courage. He is truly the father of a new Nigeria,” Hon. Oke concluded.
