It was a vibrant political weekend in Esa-Oke, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, as Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, a respected member representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, returned to his hometown in grand fashion. The visit turned into a festival of unity, loyalty, and political renewal, drawing a massive turnout of party faithful and constituents.



Hon. Oke, who also chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, was warmly welcomed at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Esa-Oke. Party stakeholders, community leaders, and jubilant supporters flooded the venue, celebrating the homecoming of a lawmaker many described as "the people's voice in Abuja."



In his address at the APC Secretariat, Hon. Oke expressed deep gratitude for the enduring support shown by his constituents and reaffirmed his loyalty to both the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He described the president’s leadership as visionary and courageous, noting that despite inheriting a fragile system, President Tinubu has remained focused on rebuilding the nation through his Renewed Hope Agenda.


"Let us remain patient and resilient," Hon. Oke urged. "This administration is laying strong foundations for a better Nigeria. The Renewed Hope mandate is not just alive, it is unstoppable."

Later that evening, the lawmaker hosted another strategic gathering at his Esa-Oke residence, where APC loyalists engaged in robust political dialogue. Oke, speaking with conviction, assured attendees that the future remains bright under the APC. He described the party as people-oriented, progressive, and grounded in values that prioritize development and grassroots empowerment.


He called on party members to begin active grassroots mobilization ahead of the Osun State governorship election in August 2026 and the 2027 general elections. While acknowledging that internal contests are part of democracy, Hon. Oke emphasized that unity must prevail once candidates emerge through due process.

“Personal preferences should never override party supremacy,” he said. “We must speak with one voice and act with one heart. The strength of the APC lies in our discipline and collective resolve.”

The lawmaker also used the platform to begin drumming early support for President Tinubu’s potential second-term bid. Setting an ambitious target, he declared that Osun State must deliver no less than one million votes for the president in 2027, affirming his commitment to that goal.

Rounding off his remarks, Hon. Oke thanked the people of Ijesa North for their continued trust. He pledged to remain a strong link between his constituency and the federal government, promising to attract more developmental initiatives to the region.

“Your trust is not misplaced,” he said. “I will keep working to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every ward, every home, and every heart in our constituency and across Osun State.”
