.....Nigeria has conquered Africa twice in just seven days
In a spectacular show of strength, skill, and national pride, Nigeria has conquered Africa twice in just seven days, first on the football pitch, then on the basketball court. On July 27, 2025, the Super Falcons edged past Morocco to reclaim the WAFCON title, their 11th crown. Barely a week later, on August 3, D’Tigress stormed to victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Côte d'Ivoire, sealing their fifth consecutive title and seventh overall.
These back-to-back victories mark a historic moment in African sports, with Nigeria becoming the only nation in recent memory to clinch two major continental championships within a single week, both won by women’s teams, showcasing the unmatched resilience and talent of Nigerian female athletes.
From Rabat to Abidjan, the green-white-green flag soared high. And as the chants echoed across stadiums and arenas, one truth became clear: Nigeria reigns supreme.
These victories are more than medals, they are messages. Messages that echo the rise of a new generation of Nigerian excellence, born from grit and grace. In just seven days, our women reminded Africa who we are.
