There was mild drama at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday after Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), lost his composure and lashed out at the presiding judge.
“You are biased! You don’t know the law. Show me the law — where is the law?” he shouted, drawing murmurs from those present.
The atmosphere became tense as security operatives quickly moved in to restrain him. Moments later, he was escorted out of the courtroom to restore order.
Proceedings were temporarily halted before the session continued without the IPOB leader.
Kanu has been in detention since his extradition from Kenya in 2021, and his trial has continued to generate national and international attention.
