Pastor Tells Followers to Protect Themselves Amid Church Attacks

A pastor has told his followers to take steps to protect themselves after attacks on churches across Nigeria, in a video that has gone viral.

“You members, go and do something that can protect you, so that if attackers come with guns, they will face each other and shoot each other. Go and do it. All my members must do it. If I say they should do it and they don’t, I will send them away, because I don’t want any of my members to die,” he said.

He also spoke about recent attacks, saying, “When they got to Owo, some people shouted the name of Jesus. Jesus had the power to save them, but Jesus said, ‘Until you get to heaven.’ In Kaduna, churches were attacked, and many who called on Jesus were still killed. Why? Jesus said, ‘We will meet in heaven.’”

His comments come as concerns grow over security in churches across the country, raising debates about faith and self-protection.
