When Digital Winds Rise: OOPA Sets the Stage for the 2025 Osun Digital Media Week

Osogbo, Osun State | November 30, 2025

In the quiet hum of Osogbo’s waking dawn, a new chapter begins to unfold, as the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) lifts the curtain

on the 2025 Osun Digital Media Week,

a gathering where ideas breathe, technology speaks,

and the future of Nigeria’s information landscape is reimagined.

Set for December 4, 2025,

at the serene Ben Bar Event Hall by Regina Suite, Ring Road, Osogbo,

the three-day convergence promises more than an event,

it promises a renaissance.

From Corporate Social Responsibility outreach

to professional refresher sessions that re-ignite old flames of excellence,

and a grand public lecture themed:

“Harnessing Technology and Artificial Intelligence

towards Credible Elections and Information Dissemination in Nigeria.”

OOPA invites the nation to listen, learn, and lead

as digital pathways reshape our democratic heartbeat.

Guiding this conversation is the Guest Speaker,

Dr. Mutiu Agboke,

the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, a voice seasoned with experience,

ready to unravel how emerging technologies

can guard the ballot, empower the media,

and drive innovations that sustain a credible electoral future.

Amid the intellectual symphony,

Digital Media Week becomes a festival of honour, celebrating online publishers and media practitioners,

men and women who keep the torch of truth alive in the vast corridors of Nigeria’s digital space.

Gracing the occasion with royal dignity is

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Hameed Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III,

the Olowu of Kuta (CON), standing as Father of the Day;

while Mrs. Funmi Abokede, General Manager of Osun CSDA,

brings the warmth and honour of the Mother of the Day.

Together, their presence weaves tradition with technology,

culture with creativity,

heritage with the horizon of innovation.

OOPA continues its journey as a respected citadel of online journalism, a home where collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy

shape the conversations that matter:

the power of technology,

the responsibility of information,

and the transforming pulse of digital media

in Nigeria’s democratic story.

BREAKING: Esa-Oke Youths Reunite as Survivors, Caution Pelumi against revisionism

....we’re not your campaign slogan Once upon a glorious, chaotic 2017, practically every able-bodied youth in Esa-Oke held honorary title in the land: Personal Assistant to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. No interviews. No pay. Just passion, blind loyalty, and the stamina to chase him from one campaign ground to the next like a political body double. From Comrade Mainframe to Comrade Swiss, from Yinka Oba to the humble football boys who carried cones like national flags, we were there. We were the movement. Until, of course. Now in 2025, Barrister Pelumi, clearly inspired by a Netflix political drama is on a media tour telling anyone who’ll listen that he "settled everyone who worked for him." Settled who, please? Maybe in his dreams or in the metaverse. In the real world, the story’s a bit different. Those of us from Obokun, who hustled day and night, got exactly zero: no thank you, no handshake. Take Sami, now a former Ward 7 councillor, no thanks from Pelumi. Folusho? Aregbe...

Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss

The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps , High Chief Dr Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele , who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital following an attempted assassination on his life on Monday, has strongly refuted the claims made by the Osun State Police Spokeperson regarding the incident. Reacting to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who claimed that investigations had not commenced because the Commander had not provided evidence of the attack, the Amotekun boss expressed deep disappointment, labeling the police response as insensitive and misleading. "It is shocking that a police spokesperson would say there is no evidence of an attack when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ota-Efun Division — the nearest jurisdiction to the incident — was immediately informed," the Commander said. "Officers from that division visited the scene the same night, assessed the damage, evacuated the vehicle, and advised me to seek ...
