Consensus Over Contest: Odesola, Olasupo Take Helm as Osun APP Resets Leadership Structure

 



In a move that underscores internal cohesion and strategic alignment, the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Osun State has produced a new set of executives through a consensus-driven state congress, with Mr. Odesola Titus and Mr. Olasupo Ibrahim Olarewaju emerging as State Chairman and State Secretary respectively.




The congress, held on Sunday, concluded without contest, as stakeholders across the party structure unanimously endorsed candidates for various leadership positions, an outcome party insiders described as a reflection of unity and shared purpose.



In a statement released shortly after the exercise, the newly elected chairman, Odesola Oluseye Titus, confirmed that the process was peaceful and widely accepted by delegates. According to him, the adoption of consensus as the mode of election eliminated internal frictions and reinforced confidence in the party’s organisational stability.



“The congress adopted consensus as the mode of election, with stakeholders endorsing nominees across various positions,” the statement read, noting that the process demonstrated a collective commitment to strengthening the party’s internal framework.



Beyond the top leadership, other key positions were also filled through stakeholder consultations. Mrs. Azeez Kudirat Ayoni emerged as State Women Leader, while Mr. Adegoke Olafare Olusegun was named State Organising Secretary. Similarly, Mr. Alimin Surajudeen Tanimola was selected as State Publicity Secretary, and Mr. Akintayo Israel Oluwatobi as State Youth Leader. Mr. Raji Jimoh Oladipupo was appointed State Auditor.

Further appointments saw Mr. Odediran Kehinde Opeolu take on the role of State Treasurer, while Mrs. Babatunde Olufunke Victoria emerged as State Financial Secretary.



At the grassroots level, the congress extended its consensus model to local government structures, producing chairmen and chairpersons across the state. Among them are Mr. Adedokun Adewale Moses (Ife North), Mrs. Adeyemi Kahidijat Iyabo (Ayedaade), Mr. Shittu Muritala Ajadi (Irewole), and Mr. Hassan Oyedepo Taiwo (Olorunda).

Others include Mr. Ademoriyo Ademola Samuel (Ife East), Mr. Adebayo Yekeen Adekunle (Iwo), Mr. Aladeyemi Kayode Theophilus (Ede North), Mr. Abiodun Olaniyi Idowu (Ila), and Mr. Alabi Ojo Adeyinka (Ayedire). Mr. Opeyemi Afeez Abiodun emerged for Orolu, Mr. Adekeye Adebayo Isiaka for Ede South, while Mr. Muhammad Waheed Ola and Mr. Ogunyemi Samuel Damilola were announced for Osogbo and Ifedayo respectively.




Party officials confirmed that all newly selected executives would assume office immediately, emphasizing that the consensus approach adopted at the congress signals a renewed phase of unity, coordination, and forward-looking leadership within the APP in Osun State.

Driver Chop Off Vehicle Inspection Officer’s Ear Over Car Particular

  A yet-to-identified Sienna car driver has reportedly bitten the ear of a Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) identified as Papu Prosper.
