“Stop Twisting Ogunbiyi’s Words — Osun APC Fires Back at Accord Party Over Viral Video”

 The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the public to disregard what it described as a “twisted and misleading” video clip allegedly involving its Osun West Senatorial aspirant, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi.



In a statement issued on Saturday, the party accused members and supporters of the Accord Party of deliberately misrepresenting Ogunbiyi’s remarks from a political meeting in a bid to create confusion within the APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

The APC maintained that Ogunbiyi remains “a credible, trusted, and dependable chieftain” who is fully committed to the party’s mission of reclaiming power from Governor Ademola Adeleke.

According to the statement, the circulating video clip was selectively edited to distort the true context of Ogunbiyi’s comments, describing the act as a “mischievous attempt that has neither flown nor gained traction among discerning members of the public.”

The party questioned why those circulating the clip failed to include portions where Ogunbiyi reaffirmed his loyalty and pledged support for the APC governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

“The Ile-Ogbo-born politician has consistently demonstrated unwavering loyalty and team spirit since joining the progressive fold,” the statement noted, emphasizing his contributions to strengthening the party across Osun West and beyond.

The APC further described the actions of its opponents as signs of political desperation, alleging that rival elements are attempting to exploit misinformation to revive what it termed their “dwindling relevance” in the state’s political landscape.

Reaffirming confidence in Ogunbiyi, the party stressed that he remains a committed stakeholder who would never act against the interests of the APC.

The statement concluded with a call on party members, supporters, and the general public to ignore the circulating video and remain focused on the party’s collective goal ahead of the forthcoming election.
