...As Oyebamiji lauds initiative, urges continued support
The National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, on Wednesday reaffirmed that the party is irrevocably committed to deliver victory for the party and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO.
The party's national scribe who empowered 332 APC loyalists across political wards in the state, hinted that the leadership and members of the party are working assiduously to unseat the incumbent government come August 15th, 2026.
This is just as the party flag-bearer, Asiwaju Oyebamiji, lauded the empowerment initiative describing it 'a motivating seed of fortunes.'
Oyebamiji urged the party's leaders and members to continue to mobilize and canvass for the party's victory come August 15th, 2026.
Speaking at the event held at Alubarika Movement Campaign Office, Alekuwodo, Osogbo, Basiru noted that the empowerment was another form of motivation for the party members to remain firm, resolute and committed to the party's cause.
He disclosed that 200,000 naira has been doled out as grants to each of the members of the party in each of the 332 political wards across the 30 local government council areas of the state.
"This is done to ensure victory of our party and our governorship election in August 15th, 2026. We are committed to deliver the APC and our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, and all our members are working assiduously to ensure the victory of our party.
"This empowerment is to further encourage our members to continue to work and be dedicated to the party, and I believe that with motivation, our party will come victorious on August 15th, 2026.
"We have given 200,000 naira to each member of our party in all the 332 wards and in the coming months, we will do additional empowerment to support our people's businesses and trades.
"They should use the money to support their businesses and better their lives", Basiru stated.
He enjoined all the political parties in the state to continue to maintain peace, saying"election is about people's choices not about violence."
Basiru maintained that the party has been canvassing and mobilising the electorate adding, "our tactics and strategies are precipitated on mobilization, education and ensuring that the people identify with our party not violence.
"We are enjoining all the parties to maintain peace. Election is about the choices of the people not about violence. I enjoin all the political parties to toe the path of peace. As you all know, our party is a party of peace and we have not in anyway involved in any act of violence.
"We enjoin all the security operatives to ensure the protection of lives and property of the citizens before, during and after the election", he added.
In his remarks, the APC governorship candidate expressed delight over the initiative which he described as encouraging and massive.
Oyebamiji asserted that the initiative would go a long way to stabilize the members of the party economically as it would help the beneficiaries to work hard for the victory of the party.
In Oyebamiji's words: "This empowerment by the National Secretary of our party is massive, encouraging and a good support. It is a service to humanity.
"This will go a long way to stabilize our party members and I can assure you, with this, this is a variable of the so many things that we want to do for our party members which will encourage them to work very hard so that come August 15th, 2026, the APC is going to win that election and by the special grace of God, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will be the governor", Oyebamiji stated.
AMBO lauded the party's National Secretary for his profound generosity and immense contributions to the growth, advancement and development of the party, saying; "your kindness touches lives and there is nothing to be compared with that.
" Your kindness is worth emulating and I pray God to reward you accordingly. I want to encourage us that it is important for us to fight this war until we have good results and ensure that the results are delivered.
"I urge everyone of us to work hard for this movement. We will eat the goodies out of it. That is an assurance. I also want to encourage us again that our party is the party to beat. We have the antecedents.
"The National Secretary just said it, we had won virtually all the seats, both at governorship, State and National Assemblies and by the grace of God, our party, the APC, will win all the political seats including governorship, presidential, state and national assemblies.
"We appreciate the work of the party at the national level and we can assure you that with your support and co-operation, we are going to deliver Osun.
"I appreciate everyone here and I want to say that the empowerment is a good one that I want us to use judiciously. 200,000 naira per member of our party per ward is not a joke.
"Please, spend it wisely. I want you to strongly believe that it is a seed money which grows to the fortunes of one's life", Oyebamiji said.
The event has in attendance leaders and members of the party in the state.
