The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun State, has announced the commencement of the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible voters ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
In a press statement issued on Monday and signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Commission disclosed that the exercise is for individuals who recently registered, applied for transfer of registration, requested replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, or updated their voter records during the just concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
According to INEC, the distribution will begin at the 332 Registration Areas across Osun State from Wednesday, July 22 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with collection taking place daily, including weekends, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Commission stated that after the Registration Area exercise, PVC collection will continue at all INEC Local Government Area Offices from Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, August 7, 2026, also from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
INEC urged all eligible voters to collect their PVCs within the stipulated period, stressing that the Permanent Voter Card remains the only valid document required for accreditation and voting on election day.
The electoral body further announced that uncollected PVCs from previous voter registration exercises would also be available for collection during the distribution period.
The Commission warned that PVC collection is strictly personal, emphasizing that collection by proxy will not be permitted under any circumstance, as doing otherwise constitutes an electoral offence.
Reaffirming its commitment to a credible electoral process, INEC said it remains dedicated to conducting a free, fair, transparent, and inclusive governorship election in Osun State.
Members of the public seeking further clarification were advised to visit the nearest INEC Local Government Office or contact the Osun State INEC Office through its official communication channels.
