.....Promises Jobs, Student Loans, Better Roads
Chief CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, a presidential aspirant in the last general elections, has outlined a youth-focused development blueprint centred on employment, education, infrastructure and the judicious management of Nigeria’s natural resources.
Ezendigbo said the blueprint was designed to create greater opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire education, secure employment, earn a decent living and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Speaking on education, he proposed a student-loan scheme that would provide financial support to university students throughout their academic programmes until graduation.
“There’ll be loan for university students until they graduate,” Ezendigbo said.
He also emphasised the need to address graduate unemployment, saying young Nigerians who acquire education and skills should have access to opportunities where their efforts can translate into meaningful livelihoods.
“Graduates will work and get rewarded,” he said.
On infrastructure, Ezendigbo called for greater consideration of the experience and capacity of Nigerian contractors in the execution of road projects.
“We’ll build our roads considering the experiences of our contractors rather than hiring,” he said.
He further advocated the judicious utilisation of Nigeria’s natural resources, saying their management should promote a greater sense of inclusion and belonging among citizens.
According to him, effective management of the country's resources should ultimately translate into tangible opportunities and benefits for Nigerians.
Ezendigbo also urged young Nigerians to embrace hard work and values that can contribute to national development.
“I will encourage the youths to work hard and imbibe a culture that drives a nation forward,” he said.
The proposals form part of Ezendigbo’s broader vision, which places youth employment, education financing, infrastructure development, economic inclusion and responsible resource management at the centre of his development agenda.
