Lifelong PDP Loyalist Obokun Ward 7, Ropo Adejuwon Dumps Party to Follow Wole Oke

The wave of defections shaking the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued with the resignation of Ropo Adejuwon, a long-time grassroots mobilizer from Ward 7 in Obokun Local Government.

Adejuwon, who has remained a loyal member of the PDP since the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1999, tendered her resignation in a letter addressed to the ward leadership. In the letter, she cited the party’s failure to prioritize the social and developmental well-being of her community as a key reason for her exit.

She also made it clear that her decision to leave was strongly influenced by her leader, Hon. Wole Oke, the federal lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, whose recent defection from the PDP has sparked a wave of similar exits across the state.

According to her,

“I can no longer remain in a political party that turns a blind eye to the suffering of my people. My decision to follow Hon. Wole Oke is based on conviction and a desire to align with a leadership that truly listens.”

Her resignation is the latest sign of growing dissatisfaction within the PDP ranks, particularly in Obokun, where calls for reform and greater community focus have gone largely unaddressed.
