Osun at 34: Amotekun Commander, Omoyele Congratulates Governor Adeleke, Charges Citizens To Strengthen Communal Bond For Lasting Development

 

As Osun State marks its 34th anniversary today, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Chief (Dr.) Adekunle Isaac Omoyele,


has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, and the good people of Osun on this significant milestone in the state's history.


In a press statement issued to journalists in Osogbo, Chief Omoyele described the 34th anniversary of Osun’s creation as a moment of reflection, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the collective progress and unity of the state, fondly known as the "State of the Living Spring."


He praised the transformational leadership of Governor Adeleke, whose administration, according to him, has brought visible and impactful development across all sectors of the state. From infrastructure, healthcare, and education to digital innovation and security, Osun under Governor Adeleke has witnessed commendable progress, setting a pace for inclusive growth and good governance.


Chief Omoyele particularly lauded the Governor's unwavering support for the security architecture of the state, especially the Osun Amotekun Corps. He noted that the enhanced synergy between security agencies, made possible by the administration’s commitment to safety, has contributed immensely to the peace and stability currently enjoyed by residents and visitors across Osun.


"We commend His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for his continued support to the Amotekun Corps and other security outfits in the state. This support has not only strengthened our capacity to secure lives and property but also fostered a peaceful atmosphere that allows residents to thrive and businesses to flourish,” Omoyele stated.


The Amotekun Commander used the occasion to call on all residents of Osun to uphold the values of peaceful coexistence, community vigilance, and cooperation with security operatives. He emphasized that maintaining peace is a collective responsibility that requires the active involvement of every citizen.


"As we celebrate this 34-year journey, I urge all Osun residents to continue to live in peace with one another, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political differences. Let us be our brothers’ keepers and promptly report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the nearest security agency. Together, we can build a safer and more prosperous Osun State," he added.


Chief Omoyele concluded his message by wishing all citizens a joyful celebration and reaffirming the commitment of the Amotekun Corps to protecting lives, promoting order, and partnering with communities to secure a better future for Osun State.
