Former Arsenal youth forward Billy Vigar has tragically died at the age of 21 following a serious brain injury sustained during a lower-league football match.
Vigar, who came through Arsenal’s academy and later played for Chichester City in the Isthmian League, collapsed after a head collision during a league fixture. He was placed in an induced coma and underwent emergency surgery in an attempt to save his life. Sadly, he passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Chichester City confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement, paying tribute to the young striker’s talent and character both on and off the pitch. Arsenal also expressed condolences, describing Vigar as “a promising player who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.”
