It was a moment to remember for the residents of Olude-Alatori as Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday commissioned a new radio station, Bass 99.3 FM, and approved the construction of a major road set to link five different communities in the area.
The governor, while inaugurating the station founded by popular disc jockey Ekundayo Salawu, also known as DJ Bassman, described the project as a testament to the conducive business environment created under his administration.
Speaking at the ceremony in Osogbo, Adeleke said the establishment of the station represents a bold step and a show of faith in Osun’s future.
“Radio remains a powerful tool as it connects communities. It gives voice to the people, shapes opinions, and strengthens democracy. With Bass 99.3 FM, our state now has another channel to entertain, inform, enlighten, and empower,” he noted.
According to him, the project is not only an addition to the media landscape but also an investment in the state’s economy. The station will create jobs for young professionals, support local businesses through advertising, and strengthen Osun’s creative industry.
Governor Adeleke commended the CEO for his initiative, pledging that his government will continue to support and encourage private investment across the state.
In his remarks, DJ Bassman expressed gratitude to the governor for supporting his vision, adding that the station “will combine entertainment with humanity.”
Traditional rulers and community leaders of Olude-Alatori also thanked the governor for remembering their community, while pledging support for his administration.
