As Nigeria celebrates her Independence Day, the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, has called on Nigerians to uphold the ideals of nationhood and remain committed to building a united and prosperous country.

In a goodwill message to mark the October 1 anniversary, Hon. Oke described the day as a reminder of the courage and sacri

fices of Nigeria’s founding fathers.

“October 1st is more than a date on the calendar; it is a symbol of the courage, sacrifices, and resilience of our founding fathers who fought for a sovereign and united Nigeria. It is also a charge to us, the present generation, to renew our commitment to the values of unity, justice, peace, and progress upon which our nation was built,” he said.

The federal lawmaker noted that despite prevailing challenges, Nigerians across Osun State and beyond are united by their shared aspiration for equity, opportunities, and the dividends of democracy.

Expressing optimism about the nation’s future, Oke stated that Nigeria has the capacity to overcome adversity and rise to its destiny.

“Our unbroken resolve as a people assures us that Nigeria will yet rise to fulfil her great destiny. Let us, therefore, celebrate with gratitude, reflect with humility, and rededicate ourselves to the noble task of building a nation we can all be proud of.”

He further urged Nigerians to continue to pray, work, and stand together for progress, stressing that unity of purpose remains the bedrock of national development.

“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!” Oke concluded.
