Obokun/Oriade Federal lawmaker, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has joined voices across Yorubaland in honouring the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the grand celebration of the 2025 Olojo Festival.
In a personally signed statement, Oke described the festival as more than just a cultural event, noting that it symbolizes the divine moment when “day became day” (Ojo ti Ojo di Ojo), underscoring Ile-Ife’s revered place as the cradle of the Yoruba race.
“The Olojo Festival is a festival of destiny. It represents spiritual renewal, the triumph of light over darkness, and a unifying platform for all true sons and daughters of Oduduwa across the world,” he said.
The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, stressed that the festival serves as both a demonstration of Yoruba collective heritage and a reminder of their shared history.
“Olojo transcends entertainment. It embodies our pride, affirms our history, and charts the path for our future. Ile-Ife is not just another town; it is the throne room of creation and the essence of Yoruba identity,” Oke stated.
