Demi-Ajayi has delivered judgment in Suit No FHC/OS/CS/147/2025 filed by the reinstated Chairmen and Councilors elected on 15th October, 2022 in Osun State.  The suit was commenced in September, 2025 and following a number of Appeals arising from the interlocutory rulings, the Court of Appeal in Abuja sat on the matter on 3rd June, 2026 and adjourned the hearing of the appeals to 28th September, 2026. Notwithstanding the fact that the Court of Appeal has become seised of the matter and a motion for staying further proceedings by the lower court in the matter is pending at the Court of Appeal, the Judge went ahead and proceeded to give judgment today 15th June, 2026 where the suit was dismissed.  The Judge ruled that the tenure of office of the reinstated elected officers of the local government councils ended in October, 2025.  The...

OFFICIAL: Achraf Hakimi Wins 2025 African Player of the Year

 

Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco superstar Achraf Hakimi has been officially crowned the 2025 CAF African Player of the Year, beating strong contenders Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah to the continent’s most prestigious individual football honour.


Hakimi’s victory follows a phenomenal season in which he played a decisive role in PSG’s historic run, helping the French giants secure the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the UEFA Super Cup. His relentless consistency, leadership, and defensive brilliance earned him widespread recognition across Europe and Africa.



This win is particularly historic: Hakimi becomes the first defender in more than five decades to claim the award, and the first Moroccan to achieve the feat since Mustapha Hadji in 1998. His triumph signals a major shift in how African defenders are appreciated in global football conversations.


The battle for the top honour was one of the most anticipated in recent years. Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, who had another strong season, and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, a perennial contender, were both seen as major threats. Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss
