In a forthright interview with Oriontimes, former presidential aspirant and renowned Nigerian politician, Chief CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, has delivered a sweeping critique of Nigeria’s governance challenges, urging a decisive shift in national priorities.
Ezendigbo, an Igbo chieftain and founder of Better Nigeria for Better People (BN4BP), is widely respected for his uncompromising stance on public accountability and nation-building. During the interview, he reflected on Nigeria’s socio-economic and political realities, stressing that the country’s recurring problems are not a result of lack of ideas, but of misplaced priorities and weak political will.
One of his strongest criticisms was directed at the huge budgetary allocations for conducting elections, which he described as unsustainable in a nation grappling with poverty, insecurity, and decaying infrastructure.
