What makes Greenland uniquely important today is its strategic location. Positioned between North America and Europe, the island sits along the shortest air and missile routes between the two continents. It also overlooks emerging Arctic shipping lanes, which are becoming increasingly navigable as polar ice melts due to climate change. Beyond military strategy, Greenland’s untapped natural resources have become a focal point of global interest.
