BREAKING: From Campaign Donor to ‘Kill Me or Pay Me’: Man Reviews APC Investment Balance Sheet

In what appears to be Nigeria’s most dramatic “return on investment” complaint yet, a man on Thursday stormed the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat in Abuja with a message as blunt as it was unsettling: reward me or kill me. The protest, captured in a now-viral video, shows the visibly distressed man holding a placard and demanding recognition for what he described as his personal sacrifices during the party’s 2023 campaign. According to him, loyalty was not just emotional, it was financial, physical, and, ultimately, total. In a country where political support often comes with expectations, some spoken, many implied the man’s outcry reads like a tragic audit of misplaced trust. His claim that he sold his house to fund campaign efforts has not been independently verified, but the symbolism is hard to ignore: a citizen liquidating stability in exchange for promised political dividends. Observers at the scene watched as the protester oscillated between anger and ...

When Influence Refuses to Fade: A Birthday Tribute to the Living Testament of Aminat Ajibola

By Abioye Tosin Lawrence

There are birthdays that count years.

And there are birthdays that count impact.

Today, we do not merely celebrate the passing of time in the life of Aminat Ajibola, we celebrate the multiplication of influence, the harvest of sacrifice, the quiet architecture of kindness that has become a fortress for many.

In a nation where recognition is often reserved for those who occupy corridors of political power, she has built her own corridor, not of marble and microphones, but of mercy, mentorship, and media mastery.

As the founder of Aminat Ajibola Foundation and the visionary behind AMILOADED, a platform that has grown from a digital footprint into a household name across Nigeria and beyond, she has proven that relevance is not conferred by office, but by service.

Because wisdom deserves alignment.

Because growth requires proximity.

Because those who desire elevation must learn from those who understand altitude.

I chose to drink from her wealth of experience, to learn, to listen, to rise beyond the mahogany tree. And in that journey, I found that greatness is not loud; it is consistent.

When I volunteered as a community reporter during one of her outreach distributions, I witnessed a different kind of power, the power that kneels to lift others. The elderly, some who had never encountered such compassion from a young achiever, stood in gratitude. They danced. They prayed. They blessed her name.

One elderly man from Benue State, holding his package with trembling hands, said words that pierced the air:

“I have not received a notable gift in my entire life.”

In that moment, I realized something profound, sometimes, God uses one woman to break generational silence. To interrupt despair. To rewrite narratives.

And so I prayed that the same favour she extends would never depart from her path.

Why this explanation?

Because birthdays are not noise; they are mirrors. They ask: What have you built? Who have you lifted? What will echo when your name is called?

If she had not painted pictures like Michelangelo, my pen would have found no marble to dance upon. But she has painted, not on ceilings of cathedrals, but on the living canvas of humanity. Her colours are compassion. Her brushstrokes are empowerment. Her gallery is the grateful heart of the common man.

She holds no political office, yet she governs influence.

She signs no executive order, yet she commands loyalty.

She campaigns for no seat, yet she wins hearts daily.

You broke barriers.

You endured storms.

You sacrificed comfort to create comfort for others.

History will not whisper your name, it will pulse with it. And whenever halls gather where greatness converges, your story will sit comfortably among them.

As you mark another year, may your oil never run dry. May your vision remain sharp. May your hands never tire of giving, and may your legacy outlive every season.

On behalf of myself and the Oriontimes family, we celebrate you, not just as a founder, not just as a media mogul, but as a living heroine whose impact stretches beyond Nigeria’s borders.

Happy Birthday to a woman whose years are measured not by age, but by influence.

BREAKING: Esa-Oke Youths Reunite as Survivors, Caution Pelumi against revisionism

....we’re not your campaign slogan Once upon a glorious, chaotic 2017, practically every able-bodied youth in Esa-Oke held honorary title in the land: Personal Assistant to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. No interviews. No pay. Just passion, blind loyalty, and the stamina to chase him from one campaign ground to the next like a political body double. From Comrade Mainframe to Comrade Swiss, from Yinka Oba to the humble football boys who carried cones like national flags, we were there. We were the movement. Until, of course. Now in 2025, Barrister Pelumi, clearly inspired by a Netflix political drama is on a media tour telling anyone who’ll listen that he "settled everyone who worked for him." Settled who, please? Maybe in his dreams or in the metaverse. In the real world, the story’s a bit different. Those of us from Obokun, who hustled day and night, got exactly zero: no thank you, no handshake. Take Sami, now a former Ward 7 councillor, no thanks from Pelumi. Folusho? Aregbe...

Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss

The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps , High Chief Dr Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele , who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital following an attempted assassination on his life on Monday, has strongly refuted the claims made by the Osun State Police Spokeperson regarding the incident. Reacting to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who claimed that investigations had not commenced because the Commander had not provided evidence of the attack, the Amotekun boss expressed deep disappointment, labeling the police response as insensitive and misleading. "It is shocking that a police spokesperson would say there is no evidence of an attack when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ota-Efun Division — the nearest jurisdiction to the incident — was immediately informed," the Commander said. "Officers from that division visited the scene the same night, assessed the damage, evacuated the vehicle, and advised me to seek ...

I Will Pay $10M If Nnamdi Kanu Curtail Insecurity, Ezendigbo Challenge FG, S' East Politicians

The Founder of the Better Nigeria For Better People, Chief. CBN Onwuasoanya Ezendigbo, has lambasted the former Governor of Anambra State and the Presidential candidate in the last general elections under the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for facilitating efforts towards Nnamdi Kanu's release from detention. Ezendigbo, in a statement released on Thursday said that, Nnamdi Kanu lack power to stop insecurity in Southeast Nigeria. According to the former Presidential Aspirant, "Let's have a road map for a 2-month cease-fire agreement to demonstrate that to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) would stop insecurity. He's just a political football fan for politicians, he said." "I am challenging both the federal government and Southeast politicians with $10M (Ten Million Dollars), they should tell Nnamdi Kanu if there will be no sit-at-home, no kidnapping in the region, that will give guarantee that he has control over insecurity in the southea...
