Egbedun Predicts Adeleke’s Re-election as APC Members Defect in Osun

 The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke will win re-election in the forthcoming governorship poll.



 


Egbedun made the remark during a political rally in Inisa, Odo-Otin Local Government Area, where over 500 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly defected to the Accord Party.



According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, the Speaker said the governor’s performance in office would influence voters’ decision at the polls.

“The record of success and achievement will speak for Governor Adeleke, and by August 15, he will win by a landslide,” Egbedun was quoted as saying.

He also urged members of the Accord Party to accommodate the new entrants and work together ahead of the election.

Speaking on the electoral process, the Speaker called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a free, fair, and credible election, while encouraging voters to participate without fear of intimidation.

A representative of the defectors, Kazeem Abdulrasheed, popularly known as Itakure, attributed their exit from the APC to internal party issues. He described the party as being controlled by a single individual, a situation he said influenced their decision to leave.

The rally also featured remarks from other political figures, including local government officials and party leaders in Odo-Otin, as the Accord Party seeks to strengthen its base ahead of the election.
