Osogbo APC Leaders Demand Probe Into Alleged Assassination Attempt on Ataoja

…Say Monarch's Claim Exposes Adeleke's Gross Incompetence, Loss Of Security Control Of Osun The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Sunday demanded probe into the alleged assassination attempt on the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji. The party leaders noted that the Ataoja's assassination claim has further exposed Governor Ademola Adeleke's gross incompetence, ineptitude and total loss of the control of the state security. They called on security agencies to beam their searchlight and investigate the alleged assassination attempt on the monarch as part of efforts to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the monarch’s claim. The party specifically urged the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The APC ...

Osun Central 2027: It’s IBO’s Turn for Senate

As political permutations begin ahead of the 2027 general elections, concerned stakeholders from Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, popularly known as IBO Federal Constituency, have called for equity, justice, and balance in the Osun Central Senatorial District ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Findings reveal that since the return to democracy in 1999, Osogbo Federal Constituency has produced the late Senator Bayo Salami and the current APC National Secretary, Senator Dr. Ajibola Basiru. Ila Federal Constituency produced Senator Sola Adeyeye, who served for eight years, and currently has Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla. Yet, IBO Federal Constituency  comprising three strategic local government areas in Osun Central  has _never produced a Senator on the platform of the progressive party_, despite its consistent loyalty, massive votes, and significant contributions to the success of the APC and its predecessors.

Other federal constituencies within Osun Central Senatorial District have taken the slot at various times, leaving IBO as the only bloc yet to have its turn at the Red Chamber under the progressive banner.

“This is not just about politics; it is about fairness and reward for loyalty,”_ a party chieftain from Iragbiji noted. “IBO Federal Constituency has always delivered for the progressives. From AD to AC, ACN, and now APC, our people have stood firm. It is only just and equitable that 2027 becomes our turn to produce the next Senator for Osun Central.”

The stakeholders argued that ceding the 2027 senatorial ticket to IBO will not only correct a long-standing political imbalance but also galvanize the constituency’s full strength for the APC in future elections.

“Osun Central cannot continue to preach equity while practicing exclusion. The time has come for IBO Federal Constituency to take its rightful place.

We have competent, tested, and loyal party men and women who can give quality representation at the Senate, Among the leading aspirant  is *BARR. YOMI OGUNWALE,* a dedicated party man and aspirant for the Osun Central Senatorial District, who has consistently contributed to the growth of our party and possesses the capacity to deliver quality representation,”the group stated.

They called on the leadership of the APC at the state and national levels to consider the zoning of the Osun Central Senatorial ticket to IBO Federal Constituency in 2027 as a strategic move to consolidate the party and reward steadfast loyalty.

The group maintained that the agitation is not against any individual or federal constituency but a call for inclusiveness, justice, and the strengthening of internal democracy within the APC.

BREAKING: Esa-Oke Youths Reunite as Survivors, Caution Pelumi against revisionism

....we’re not your campaign slogan Once upon a glorious, chaotic 2017, practically every able-bodied youth in Esa-Oke held honorary title in the land: Personal Assistant to Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. No interviews. No pay. Just passion, blind loyalty, and the stamina to chase him from one campaign ground to the next like a political body double. From Comrade Mainframe to Comrade Swiss, from Yinka Oba to the humble football boys who carried cones like national flags, we were there. We were the movement. Until, of course. Now in 2025, Barrister Pelumi, clearly inspired by a Netflix political drama is on a media tour telling anyone who’ll listen that he "settled everyone who worked for him." Settled who, please? Maybe in his dreams or in the metaverse. In the real world, the story’s a bit different. Those of us from Obokun, who hustled day and night, got exactly zero: no thank you, no handshake. Take Sami, now a former Ward 7 councillor, no thanks from Pelumi. Folusho? Aregbe...

Assassination Attempt: Police can’t deny what’s on their desk, says Amotekun boss

The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps , High Chief Dr Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele , who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital following an attempted assassination on his life on Monday, has strongly refuted the claims made by the Osun State Police Spokeperson regarding the incident. Reacting to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who claimed that investigations had not commenced because the Commander had not provided evidence of the attack, the Amotekun boss expressed deep disappointment, labeling the police response as insensitive and misleading. "It is shocking that a police spokesperson would say there is no evidence of an attack when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ota-Efun Division — the nearest jurisdiction to the incident — was immediately informed," the Commander said. "Officers from that division visited the scene the same night, assessed the damage, evacuated the vehicle, and advised me to seek ...
