…NDC Aspirant Accepts Call to Represent Esan South East in 2027
A frontline aspirant for the Edo State House of Assembly under the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Enogwor Omon Stephen, has formally accepted the call by youths and critical stakeholders in Esan South East Local Government Area to contest in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Esan South East, Edo State, Stephen described the overwhelming support and endorsement from Esan youths as a “sacred trust” and a patriotic call to service aimed at repositioning the constituency for meaningful development and inclusive governance.
The aspirant clarified that his ambition is under the platform of the NDC and not the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stressing that his decision was driven by a commitment to credible leadership, people-oriented representation, and sustainable progress for the constituency.
According to him, the call by the youths and other stakeholders reflects the collective desire of the people for a representative who is competent, accessible, compassionate, and dedicated to advancing the welfare of Esan South East.
“I am profoundly honoured and deeply humbled to formally accept the resounding call by the Esan youths and other critical stakeholders of Esan South East to contest and represent our great constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly,” he stated.
Stephen lamented the numerous developmental challenges confronting the constituency, including poor infrastructure, unemployment, inadequate healthcare services, poor educational facilities, and limited economic opportunities.
He, however, pledged to champion policies and legislative interventions that would address the pressing needs of the people if elected into office.
Outlining his legislative agenda, the NDC aspirant promised to prioritize youth empowerment and skills acquisition programmes aimed at preparing young people for opportunities in the modern economy.
He also assured constituents of his commitment to infrastructural development through advocacy for improved roads, electricity supply, portable water, and rural development projects across all wards in Esan South East.
On education and healthcare, Stephen vowed to push for better funding and policies that would improve access to affordable and quality services for residents of the constituency.
The aspirant further emphasized the need for agricultural modernization and economic growth, promising support for farmers through access to modern farming techniques, financial assistance, and market opportunities to enhance food security and boost local prosperity.
Speaking on security, he pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities and community stakeholders to promote peace, safety, and an enabling environment for investment and community development.
Stephen expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, party leaders, women groups, students, professionals, and other well-meaning indigenes of Esan South East for the confidence reposed in him.
He assured the people that he would remain accountable, transparent, and accessible throughout the political journey and beyond.
“This is not about personal ambition; it is about Esan South East’s destiny. Together, we will write a new chapter of progress, unity, and inclusive development for our constituency,” he added.
The statement was signed by Enogwor Omon Stephen, NDC Aspirant for Esan South East Constituency, Edo State House of Assembly 2027.
